Three daughters asked me to join them in prayer for their father who was detained in Haiti due to the closure of airports and the halt of commercial flights in early March 2024 due to the turmoil there. One daughter had purchased a ticket for him to return on April 10, 2024, as he held dual citizenship.
However, the daughter learned that the airports were closed, and the commercial airlines halted all flights in early March. The sisters were concerned he could not exit the country.
I reflected that I had prayed for those in Afghanistan in 2021. Now, we needed to petition God for his successful exit. He needed to address a pending issue in America, so we prayed for weeks.
I received a text message on April 11, 2024, that he arrived safely in Florida. No further details were given. Later, I inquired about how he returned home. One daughter informed me that an older sister connected with a person who owned a private jet. They brought him back to America.
God is faithful! Hebrews 10:23 reminds us: "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope that we profess, for He who promised is faithful (NIV). Yes, this event strengthened my faith.
