I asked God to heal the burdens, anger & painful memories of our current American situation. Only He can!
I also prayed that He renew all of our minds and hearts, so that we can put together meaningful plans and protocols to deal effectively with the racial issues in our country. I asked God to inspire everyone reading this post to actually make an individual, positive difference to move forward.
Darnell & I did yesterday. We gave cards & balloons to celebrate 2 different graduates on our block during the pandemic. Both young men were surprised; one father asked about our experiences in America. I shared details with him to confirm news reports.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 exhorts that supplications (urgent, earnest requests), prayers, intercessions (pleadings) & giving of thanks, be made for all men. For kings and all in authority; that "we" may lead a quiet & peaceable life in all godliness & honesty.
These verses require personal responsibility to fulfill; yet may we wisely add our collective voices & peace-filled hearts to obtain the needed solutions in our communities and our country.
