May we all focus on what the word "Independence" means today. America was formed to create individual opportunities, overcome outside rulership from England, and establish religious freedom.
John 8:36 reminds us: "If the Son (Jesus) makes us free, we are free indeed". What do we individually need freedom from? Search "your" heart honestly.
Is it?
Complaining?
Denying oneself self-care time?
Disobedience or being uncooperative?
Feeling sorry for yourself, your circumstances, or others?
Failing to seek help?
Failing to upgrade one's work skills?
Failing to mend meaningful relationships?
Failing to train one's children in the bible, proper manners, and respect?
Laziness about working, praying, and/or keeping your side of the bargain?
Misuse of your money, resources, skills, talent, or time?
Overindulgence in any substance, lifestyle, or behavior?
Family strife?
Friend strife?
Neighbor strife?
Spousal strife?
Poor decision-making?
Regret?
Unforgiveness?
Whatever it is, we can flow with the independence theme today!
Lord, we ask You to help us clean up the messes that we made in our lives, by being off focus. If we absorbed any ungodly advice, stood in the way with sinners, or sat with scorners, as Psalm 1:1 notes, please FORGIVE us today and ongoing! We ask for focus, grace, glory, Your order, and Your Godly connections today, in Jesus Christ's name to make lifetime changes now, so we can be free indeed!
