Joel 2: 25
So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust and the chewing locust. My great army which I sent among you.
I was thinking today about the prayer project in Joel 2 that I've had over the past 8 years.
Every week I prayed for my family and many other families that I know for God's help, especially restoration of the years, projects, goals that were eaten in our lives.
I assured that I prayed the chapter over the 52 weeks of the year. A couple of years, I was behind a couple weeks as the year was closing out. So, I needed to catch up before 12/31. I realized the effect of the prayer and the accomplishment as I saw God's hand in the people's lives included on the list.
This year, I prayed on several pandemic-focused prayers. I wasn't focusing on this chapter until September. Then, I began to re-focus here. I realized the power of this chapter.
The reason this is so important is that Jesus came to give us life abundantly according to John 10:10; however the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy.
Expect restoration! Speak restoration! Anticipate that what the years have stolen or what ideas appear to be killed/destroyed in our lives will be restored. Old men dream dreams. It's time to dream older people! Young men prophesy and see visions, Joel 2:28. Await restoration! Speak restoration as we end 2020 and enter 2021! Go forth!
