Zacharias, father of John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied saying,
Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited and redeemed/eradicated the sin of His people. And raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David,
Luke 1:67-69.
Zacharias did receive the promise of a son in his old age. He announced that his son, John would be a prophet of the Highest. For John would go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, to give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins through the mercy of our God Luke 1:76-78.
Christmas points to the birth of Christ. We look forward to this time because lights abound and gifts are exchanged. The greatest gift to us all is Jesus. His life made room for us to have life abundantly.
You may ask, does this mean that I will never have any pain or trouble? No. In the world, we do have tribulation. Jesus said, "But be of good cheer; I overcame the world, John 16:33.
What does this mean? We have an overcomer available to us. Jesus knows the way through any issue. We can listen for His direction and grow in His wisdom. Blessing...
